James E. Fish

Hello my name is Jim Fish, a wedding and portrait specialist.  When

I took up my interest in photography as a hobby I started doing simple portraits

of my friends.  As my interest grew leaning more towards people photography, I also worked a little in the area of fashion with models and photographing body building tournaments.

I developed my skills formally by taking selected photography courses at the local community colleges in St. Louis, Missouri.  Getting my start in wedding photography just happened by chance when I was asked to do a couple of small

weddings for friends.  A photographer from the St. Genevieve, Missouri area heard of me and asked me to do some weddings through their studio.  That first wedding was 19 years ago.  My popularity grew to the point that I came to a cross roads in my life.  In the summer of 1993 I had generated so many clientele that I had to make the decision to leave behind my career in the law enforcement profession and take my photography interest full time.  My business has steadily grown in the south St. Louis County since then.

I operate as a independent sole proprietor, photographing all weddings, portraits and other photo assignments myself.  My theory being if you where to have a portrait painted by Rembrant then hire Rembrant, not a staff assistant assigned to the job.  I hope you will contact me for more personalized service and not production line photographic services.
